Today I can’t help but think of Ghandi’s famous quote, “Be the change that you want to see in the world.” All of the men and women that we celebrate today lost their lives here on Earth being the change that they wanted to see in the world – either fighting to gain or retain. I hope everyone does something in honor of this day. Make sure that your children know why they don’t have school; attend a parade; buy a poppy from a vet; thank a vet; attend a ceremony or take a walk through a cemetery. Those who we celebrate today made a sacrifice for the greater good of this nation. It saddens me that so many people get caught up in their daily lives and narrow-minded beliefs and forget to look at the big picture of our nation as a whole. Those we honor today sacrificed their lives for the greater good of this country. What are you willing to sacrifice to help for the greater good? The opportunities are endless. God Bless America.
